Review of Musical Bookends concert with the Octavo Singers:

“He [Mozart] particularly focused his attention on the soprano soloist, brilliantly performed by Melanie Shank, . . . Shank shone in her long and many solos . . . with an agile technique and ringing tones.”

Review of Carissimi’s The Oratorio of Jephthah with the UAlbany Chamber Singers:

“. . . Melanie Shank, soprano, as Jephthah’s daughter, sang with great authority and technique, and made a whiplash mood swing – from exultant victory to mournful lament –  utterly believable. ”

Review of Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites with the Resonanz Albany Summer Music Festival:

” . . . Diction of the English words was exceptionally clear. With the audience barely 10 feet away, everyone was focused and intent on the action. As Blanche, Katherine McDaniel sang with a bright clear voice that was strongly projected, and she did well acting in a natural well with an animated face. Caitlin Felsman as Mother Marie and Melanie Shank as Sister Constance, Blanche’s friend, were also strong. . .”
